SSKC took a HUGE squad to the JKS England National Championships on Sunday 16th November in Grantham. We're particularly proud of those first timers who took that bold step onto the tatami, and grateful for the support of our coaches on the day, Rufus and Sam Sensei. Particular mention obviously to Squad Coach Scott Sensei who puts so much time into pulling all this together. We all appreciate the hard work you put into the competition side of the club, and we're much stronger because of it.
Thanks also to our parents, guardians and relatives for supporting and giving our students the opportunity to experience a larger competition environment. It was a long day, but I'm sure you'll all agree a very worthwhile trip.
And to ALL our competitors, medals or not, you are absolute superstars.
As a volunteer run, not-for-profit club, one of our stated aims is to make karate as accessible as possible, and support our students' development in all areas as best we can, whenever we can. On this occasion, funds were available to wholly cover every single entry, a gift back from the club of around £900.
