Training Fees
Selby Shotokan Karate Club is run by volunteers on a not-for-profit basis. This means that we can keep our fees low, and make karate as accessible as possible.
Monthly club membership fees look to cover our venue costs, and our instructors' insurances, DBS checks, training and grading fees.
We also aim to support any students who wish to complete locally, or nationally.
Once you are a member of the club, there is a single annual charge to cover your JKS membership. This gives you your licence and insurance and means you can gain officially accredited certification for your progress through the grades, and train with senior JKS instructors.
Grading examinations and training with senior visiting instructors outside of our Dojo incur a small additional fee (Approximately £15-20 depending on the event).
Individual Prices

Financial support
As part of our written constitution, Selby Shotokan Karate Club wants karate to be accessible and available to all.
If for whatever reason you need some help funding your training, either temporarily, or permanently, please talk to one of the instructors in confidence. If you would like to start training with us, but would struggle to find the money, do still get in touch. We've helped a number of individuals and families over the years and maintain a small support fund for this specific reason.
